Solar Homes and Communities Plan
Under the Solar Homes and Communities Plan you can get up to $8,000 for installation of a 1 kW solar photovoltaic (PV) system.

National Solar Schools
The National Solar Schools program gives all Australian primary and secondary schools $50,000 to spend on sustainability products.
$20,000 may be spent on a minimum 2 kW solar photovoltaic (PV) system, the remaining $30,000 may be spent on sustainability products such as rain water tanks, insulation, lighting, hot water, etc..
Victorian Energy Efficiency Target (VEET)
The Victorian Energy Efficiency Target (VEET) program will be awarding $200 million worth or renewable energy carbon credits to household energy efficiency improvements.
The VEET programme starts on January 1st, 2009 and will run for 3 years, upon which time it will be renewed for another 3 years.
Hot Water System Rebates
Huge Australian government rebates and carbon credits are available for replacing older style storage hot water systems with more efficient ones.
Regional areas get an extra $1000 over metro areas.
The rebates are usually given as a point of sale discount and are in the range of $2500 to $5000 depending on the unit purchased. This amount includes RECs.
